About Uptur

Uptur offers authentic Faroese experiences aboard a traditional boat, operating out of Leirvík and sailing to the nearby islands of Kalsoy and Kunoy. We provide fishing trips, sightseeing tours, and local stories at sea. Guests can also book our small, cosy dining room to enjoy food and conversation in a warm, personal setting.

All content, features, and functionality available on this website are the property of Uptur and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not use any content from this site without our prior written permission.

Our website may include links to third-party sites or services that we do not own or manage. Uptur is not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any external websites, and we encourage you to review their terms and policies before using them.

Bookings

You can book tours or experiences (including fishing trips or dining room reservations) up to one day before the activity. We also accept bookings up to eight months in advance.

After your booking and payment are completed, a confirmation email with full details will be sent to you. Please save or print this confirmation for your reference.

Payment Methods

We accept the following forms of payment through our website:

  • Credit cards: Mastercard/Maestro, Visa/Visa Electron/VPay, JCB, UnionPay, American Express, and Dankort.

Cancellations & Refunds

To cancel your booking, please contact us by email with your name and booking number.

  • If you cancel 14 or more days before the start of your trip, you’ll receive a full refund.
  • Cancellations made 13 days or fewer before the start time are non-refundable.
  • If you attempt to cancel within 36 hours of the departure, we kindly ask you to contact us directly.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance before traveling to the Faroe Islands. This can help cover costs if you need to cancel your trip at short notice.

Fishing Regulations

 Fishing must be done at least 50 meters away from fish farms (e.g. salmon cages). Catches may not be sold or given away for profit.

Weather-Related Changes

Your safety is always our top priority. If weather conditions are unsafe, we reserve the right to:

  1. Offer an alternative tour in a safer location on the same day (no refunds).
  2. Propose a rescheduled date if sailing conditions improve later in your stay (no refunds).
  3. If rescheduling is not possible due to weather, we will cancel your trip and issue a full refund.

We will communicate all changes as early as possible.

Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Any significant updates will be announced on our website. By continuing to use the Service after changes take effect, you agree to the revised Terms.
